Abstract

Tourism not only reflects the essence of communities, where culture and gastronomy are showcased to create a tourism product; this connection could be linked to traditional products such as talabateros, thereby establishing a sense of belonging. Therefore, it is important to continue conducting research of this type and be able to suggest strategies that would help achieve this goal.
This research used semi-structured interviews, which were conducted with two of the main saddlery producers established in the mountain municipality of Moctezuma, Sonora. One was chosen for their time dedicated to this activity and the other for their economic formality.
Since this initial analysis is qualitative, exploratory, and cross-sectional, its overall objective was to analyze the socioeconomic impact of the talabarteros sector in the aforementioned area. In conclusion, talabarteros could be an important catalyst for the development of tourism products that would improve the socioeconomic conditions of the study region, as recognized by manufacturers.
